Manami Ishizaka
22-Apr-86 Ishizaka won the 2002 national championships. She started training at the Asahi Mutual Life Insurance Gymnastics Club with Mr. And Mrs. Tsukahara. Ishizaka has the reputation for consistent performance. Her sister is also a gymnast.
Kyoko Oshima
5-Aug-86 Oshima started training at the Asahi Mutual Life Insurance Gymnastics Club. The reason she got involved with gymnastics was that she got excited by the flying trapeze in a circus. She asked her mother how she could get involved with such activity, and the answer was "Gymnastics." She has a nice smile and had many fans at the Asian Games in 2002.
Ayaka Sahara
28-Oct-85 Ayaka learned swimming first. However, she saw a beautiful leotard at the gym next to the swimming pool and really wanted to have it.
She won the NHK Cup in 2001. She has a good sense of twisting. She performs a triple twist on Floor, Beam, and bars. All of these are excellent. You should see them.
Erika Mizoguchi
2-May-85 Erika won the national title in 2001 and became a member of the World Championship team. However, the Japan Gymnastic Association decided to call off sending a team to the competition because of the fear of terrorism. Therefore, she missed the chance to compete at the world championships. In the 2002 World Championships, she competed on BB and UB and got 18th on BB. It was the best women's finish for Japan.
Miho Takenaka
22-Oct-84 Before the Olympics 2000 her father passed away by cancer. He was only 45. He always told her "Go to Sydney!" until close his eyes. Her coach is a world champion, Shigeru Kasamatsu. Kasamatsu and her father were same university students. Her father had ever seen Kasamatsu's performance at the university and very impressed. When his daughter Miho started training with Kasamatsu, he entrusted her in comfort. It was hard but Miho became an Olympian in 2000 difference in total score 0.025. She kept his promise.
Maika Mizutori
27-Jul-85 Her parents used to be gymnasts and now they coach gymnastics. It was easy for her to start training because the gym was a special playland for her. She learned with her younger brother, Genki, and cousins. Her cousins are international gymnasts. Hisashi Mizutori was a member of the Asian Games team in 2002, and Kazuki and Hidetoshi Mizutori, were members of the Pan-Pacific team in 2002.
Miki Uemura

6-Mar-86 The principal of her elementary school recommended that she start training in gymnastics. First she was taught by Naoyuki Terao, who was a member of the world Championships team in 1987. Then she moved to the Asahi Mutual Life Insurance Gymnastics Club which is the most famous gym for girls.
